Your climate change denial TikToks are getting deleted

TikTok is taking steps to ban climate change denial content on its platform. The new policy, which came into effect on April 21, directs all climate-related content searches to be sourced from authoritative information partnerships with the United Nations. The video sharing app has stated that any content that goes against scientifically accepted views on climate change will be removed. TikTok aims to empower informed climate discussions and maintain authentic engagement with its users. The move comes after concerns of climate change misinformation present on the platform, leading lawmakers to ban the app in various countries. Additionally, TikTok has updated its community guidelines earlier in March to include new policies on artificial intelligence, climate misinformation, and age restrictions.
