Young and ‘healthy’ British doctor died from severe reaction to AstraZeneca COVID vaccine: coroner

A British coroner has ruled that a healthy 32-year-old doctor died from a rare reaction to AstraZeneca’s COVID-19 vaccine. Dr. Stephen Wright died in January 2021, ten days after receiving his first dose. He was described as “fit and healthy” before he fell ill. Wright suffered a cerebral blood clot after getting inoculated. The coroner called it a “very unusual and deeply tragic case.” Wright’s widow is suing AstraZeneca and has been trying to get the wording on her husband’s death certificate changed from “natural causes.” An AstraZeneca spokesperson said that patient safety is their highest priority, and regulatory authorities have clear and stringent standards to ensure the safe use of all medicines, including vaccines.
