Xavier Tillman’s drops never-before-seen epic game in win over Lakers

Xavier Tillman was the hero for the Memphis Grizzlies in their Game 2 tie with the Los Angeles Lakers after contributing a team-high 22 points, 13 rebounds, and three assists. This is the first time in franchise history that a Grizzlies player has posted at least 22 points and 13 rebounds while shooting at least 75 percent from the field in an NBA playoffs game. Tillman was not a primary concern for the Lakers heading into Game 2, and he only scored two points in the series opener. He also helped former Michigan State teammate Jaren Jackson Jr. in making life miserable on the court for Lakers big man Anthony Davis, who only produced 13 points from 4-for-14 shooting from the floor. The Lakers were blindsided by Tillman’s surprising eruption, and the Grizzlies hope he will carry this form with him to Game 3 on Saturday.
