WhatsApp lets you save disappearing messages (with a catch)

WhatsApp has updated its disappearing messages feature to allow users to keep certain messages, with the sender notified and given the option to give permission or not. The feature, called Keep in Chat, was announced by Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg on Facebook. WhatsApp’s disappearing messages feature was rolled out in November 2020 and previously did not have any options for saving messages. The updated feature means that users can opt to save certain messages by clicking the bookmark icon, which sends a notification to the sender. The sender will then have the power to decide whether to allow the message to be saved or not. The new feature will roll out globally over the next few weeks.
