Voyager And Binance Deal Advances With Resolution By The US
US cryptocurrency brokerage Voyager Digital and Binance US have resolved issues with the US government that had led to the US Department of Justice appealing a court order approving Voyager’s bankruptcy plan. The cryptocurrency lending platform’s plan to sell its assets and transfer its customers to Binance US was valued at $1.3bn. The resolution states that appeals will continue concerning the plan’s exculpation provision, but the government has agreed that the plan may move forward without the provision and will not be subject to the stay. Voyager’s bankruptcy filing in early 2022 left many of its 1.7 million users concerned about the fate of their assets, but the proposed acquisition by Binance US could offer users access to a wider range of trading pairs, liquidity and interest on their cryptocurrency holdings.
