Tournament format, confirmed pairings, UK tee times and how to follow team event in New Orleans as Cantlay and Schauffele defend

The Zurich Classic, a team event on the PGA Tour, will take place from 20 to 23 April in Louisiana. The competition, in its sixth year, will feature 80 teams, each comprising two players. The format is stroke play, with better ball rounds on the first and third days, alternating with alternate shot rounds for the second and fourth days. The defending champions, Patrick Cantlay and Xander Schauffele, will compete again after triumphing last year with a record score of 29 under par. The event features pairs facing off, with a cut after Friday’s second round eliminating all but 33 teams that tied, who will proceed to complete the weekend. A host of star names, including Jon Rahm, Matt Fitzpatrick, Collin Morikawa and Si Woo Kim, will take part. The event will be broadcast live by Sky Sports Golf throughout the week and also be covered by talkSPORT2 for digital access. It is considered a high-scoring affair given each pair effectively has two chances on the two better ball rounds.
