Liverpool fans love a hilarious interaction between Darwin Nunez and Curtis Jones during their Europa League win over Toulouse.

The Reds made it three wins from three in Group E with a 5-1 victory over the French side, although witnessed a baffling open goal miss.

Nunez did all the hard work and rounded with the goalkeeper but with the goal at his mercy, he somehow hit the post and missed.

Ryan Gravenberch was on hand to pounce on the rebound and score Liverpool’s fourth goal of the night though.

After coming so close to netting a second, Nunez was seen with his head in his hands on the turf in bewilderment of his miss.

Fan footage on TikTok then showed a funny interaction between him and teammate Jones as they headed back for Toulouse’s kick-off.

A pretend conversation had Jones asking ‘How did you miss’, with Nunez then fictionally replying ‘Idfk [I don’t f****** know].’

He then jokingly kicked out at the midfielder before they embraced each other, with one fan on social media saying: “Mighty Reds always make u laugh.”

“I love how he kicks Curtis like someone would at school to their mate embarrassing them,” added another with laughing emojis.

A third said: “Curtis is the friend we need the most.”

“Nunez kicking Jones is the funniest thing I’ve seen. How can you not love this man,” added a fourth.

Some suggested the kick was a reference to Jones’ pre-match comments about Alexis Mac Allister’s bum.

After the game, in which Nunez did actually score, Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp said he is not worried about the Uruguayan’s finishing.

“He played incredible,” he said in his post-match press conference. “Honestly, I couldn’t care less that he hits the post in that moment.

“Everything before was super convincing, was absolutely clear, how he took the defender away, he he passed the goalie, it was a perfect situation.

“He played really good, the goal he scored the situation was more dropping into midfield, staying on the ball, all these kind of things, so there were a lot of good things.

“He is in a good moment and that for us is obviously important, so I’m really pleased for him with the performance. Yes, it’s a bit of slapstick that the ball doesn’t go in and Ryan finishes it off and it’s cool.

“But as I said before the game, he’s happy, a man in a moment, you can see that everyday and we have to make sure it stays like that.”

Diogo Jota opened the scoring for Liverpool after nine minutes only for Toulouse to equalise through Thijs Dallinga soon after.

The Reds then ran riot at Anfield as Wataru Endo, Nunez, Gravenberch and Mohamed Salah capped off the scoring.
