Lovelorn men turn to artificial intelligence, dating guru to help get a date: ‘Viagra for your social profile’
Men struggling to find dates are turning to artificial intelligence (AI) and a self-described love guru to create appealing dating profiles. Stefan-Pierre Tomlin, a London model and owner of Celebrity Love Coach, charges between $55 to $150 per month for subscribers to access bespoke AI that drafts dating profiles. Tomlin claims that his AI prompts and training can help turn people’s dating lives around. He compared his services to using a dishwasher and said that using his program was giving less fortunate people “a hidden advantage.” Tomlin uses OpenAI’s chatbot, ChatGPT, and software he developed to learn people’s profiles and change their looks. AI-generated dating profiles have previously been tested, with 62% of singles surveyed swiping right on an AI-generated profile. Some AI-focused dating apps have also emerged. Current apps such as CupidBot and iris match users based on their likelihood of finding each other attractive, and users’ photos are verified with a selfie. Tomlin said that his coaching services have already helped 32 men get successful dates.
