Kreider scores two more, Rangers open 2-0 lead on Devils
The New York Rangers took a 2-0 lead against the New Jersey Devils in their first-round playoff series with a 5-1 win on Thursday night. Chris Kreider scored two power-play goals in the second period, along with goals from Patrick Kane, Vladimir Tarasenko, and Kaapo Kakko. Adam Fox added two assists to give him six in two games. Erik Haula scored for the Devils, who have been outscored 10-2 in the series so far. Fourth-line center Michael McLeod and Rangers defenseman Braden Schneider had a big fight late in the game. The Devils benched defenseman Jonas Siegenthaler and forward Jesper Boqvist and dressed defenseman Brendan Smith and forward Yegor Sharangovich.
