Kings take down defending champion Warriors in first playoff game in 17 years

The Sacramento Kings have won their first playoff game since May 2006, defeating the defending NBA champions, the Golden State Warriors, in a nail-biting 126-123 victory. The Kings mounted a stunning comeback after trailing by as many as 10 points, with De’Aaron Fox ending his playoff debut with an impressive 38 points, including 15 in the final quarter. Malik Monk contributed 32 points off the bench, and the team ultimately secured the win with a pair of free throws from Monk and a missed three-pointer from Stephen Curry with 10 seconds left on the clock. The victory puts the Kings ahead in the series 1-0 and marks their first step towards a potential NBA championship. Game 2 of the series will take place on Monday night at the Golden 1 Center.
