Ex-WWE star Ted DiBiase Jr. charged in Miss. welfare scandal



Former WWE star Ted DiBiase Jr. has been charged in connection with the Mississippi welfare scandal, which also allegedly involved footballer Brett Favre. DiBiase Jr., accused of misappropriating millions of dollars from families in need in Mississippi, is said to have awarded sham contracts to his own companies for social services. Charges against him include conspiracy to commit wire fraud and commit theft of programmes receiving federal funds, six counts of wire fraud, two counts of theft of programmes receiving federal funds, and four counts of money laundering. DiBiase allegedly used federal funds to buy a car, a house, and a boat, which could lead to a maximum of 20 years in prison for each of the six wire fraud counts, and 10 years for the six counts of money laundering and theft of federal funds. Brett DiBiase, his brother, recently pleaded guilty to a federal charge related to misspending of welfare money.
