Manchester United has been called out for its “spineless” defence by TalkSport’s Jason Cundy after the team was defeated 3-0 by Sevilla in the Europa League on 13 May. The defeat came as United crashed out of the tournament 5-2 on aggregate, and followed criticism of the team for giving up a 2-0 lead with two late own goals in the first leg. Youssef En-Nesyri scored twice and Loic Bade also claimed a goal in the second leg. After the match, Man United boss Erik ten Hag acknowledged that his team had serious issues with defence that could not be ignored. Sunday will offer the team a chance to redeem itself as it faces Brighton in the FA Cup semi-finals.
