Dominion still has pending lawsuits against election deniers such as Rudy Giuliani and Sidney Powell
Dominion Voting Systems has reached a settlement in its defamation suit against Fox News, as the trial was about to start. No details of the settlement were made public. Dominion had sought $1.6bn in damages from Fox News for its promotion of conspiracy theories about the 2020 presidential election. Fox News denied the allegations and argued that Dominion’s claim of damages was inflated. By settling the case, Fox News executives and on-air personalities will avoid having to testify about their coverage of the election. Fox News still faces a similar lawsuit from Smartmatic, another voting technology firm, which is currently in the discovery process.
