Arizona Diamondbacks’ young player, Corbin Carroll, has become a cornerstone of the team following his MLB debut late in the 2022 season. Despite the impact of COVID-19 on his career in 2020, he was able to enroll in a full-time course at Arizona State University. His 2021 season was cut short due to a torn labrum, but he kept himself occupied and learned the importance of happiness by taking a course in philosophy. Philosophy of Happiness, or PHI 326, helped him understand how society sees happiness while also challenging him to find true happiness. Carroll says he learned that it’s vital to recognize happiness and avoid getting too caught up in certain emotions. Since then, he has been a key player for the Diamondbacks this season, helping them get off to a hot start.
