Four people have been seriously injured in a stabbing attack at a gym in the western German city of Duisburg. The incident occurred in the old city of Duisburg, near the city hall, and no arrests have been made, with police now seeking one suspect. Three of those attacked are in life-threatening condition. The gym operator said it deeply regretted the incident, adding that the safety of members and employees was a top priority. Duisburg has about 500,000 residents and is located where the Rhine and Ruhr rivers meet. Famous for coal mining and steel production, the area has more recently suffered from high unemployment and poverty. Last month, a gunman killed six people at his former Jehovah’s Witness hall in the northern German city of Hamburg.
